to melt into your soil and sprout as a flower • Tütar galerii • Galleri Duerr
The series "to melt into your soil and sprout as a flower" explores how forms of co-existence and symbiotic growth can be expressed both metaphorically and literally through content, form, and process. Each work is "grown" over approximately six months using accumulative techniques, with some areas reaching dozens of layers and others just a few. The making-process is built up as a dialogue: I alternate between collected influences (text-based analyses, digital tools, marks made by my child and others, material constraints) and my own interventions of selectively masking, covering, or revealing previous layers. This investigates how collaborative touch can be used as a tool of expression within the individualistic medium of painting and what influence it has on the image-making process and personal expression.
